I found this information through the FDA web site and each document is clearly identified.

My life has really changed over the past year. I used to never leave my office and was on a computer all day working. This, of course, was before I sold my company. Now, I'm practicing almost everyday at the course to become a golf teaching pro. I was out on the course the other day and it hit me. What if I had a problem with my Diabetes?

No one would ever know that I have diabetes. "

I remembered years ago my parents had me wear a Medic Alert chain when I was in school just in case of an emergency. As I got older, I didn't want to have to carry anything extra and stopped using it. But now as an adult, I feel the need to always have one on because of my daily routine.

So, last week, I checked out the Medic Alert web site to see what kind of options they had. I must say, Medic Alert has changed a lot over the years. When I arrived at the site I found numerous options. There were bracelets, chains, watches & even the Health Key. Not only did they offer different types of jewelry, they offered them in silver, rhodium and gold. When I wore one many years ago, I only remembered them in the basis steel.

So I picked out one of the rhodium bracelets. Rhodium is a coating that they put on silver so that it won't tarnish from a reaction to the skin. In about 2 days (I paid to have it shipped faster.) I got my bracelet and was amazed at the quality.

Medic Alert is a non-profit organization that has been around since 1953. Their Medic Alert jewelry lists your medical condition on the back along with a toll free number. Emergency responders can call this number and receive an up to date medical history on you. I had to answer questions when I was ordering such as:

1. Medical Condition
2. Breakdown Of Insulin Doses
3. Any Other Kinds Of Allergies To Medicines
4. Emergency Contact Information

Medic Alert told me that they receive about 6,000 unique emergency phone calls per year.

The cost of their Medic Alert items and the service is very reasonable. I purchased my bracelet for about $100 and the service, which is included by becoming a member of the Medic Alert non-profit organization, is $25 per year.

I had a great experience and urge anyone out there who lives alone or plays sports to visit Medic Alert.

Hello and welcome to the newly redesigned diabetic live. I hope everyone likes the changes that have taken place over the past week. I was able to update our site with new a new look and improved features. I'll continue to add new content as often as possible.

Thanks!
