Halle Berry
Halle Berry is a famous actress that began her career at an early age. She was born in 1966 from Cleveland, Ohio. She has taken the world by storm performing as a model, in beauty pageants, as well on the big and small screens. Berry was honored as the first African-American woman to win the Best Actress from the Academy Awards. Some of her best performances include “Monster’s Ball”, “Introducing Dorothy Dandridge” and “Swordfish”. Before she was a famous actress, Berry was a runner-up in Miss USA in 1986. Her awards include the Golden Globe as well as an Emmy. Halle Berry is 42 years old.
While taping the TV show, “Living Dolls”, Berry fell into a coma on the set. Later she came to realize that she had type 1 diabetes. She has spoken-out on her illness. Talking in 2004 about her campaign for Diabetes Awareness, she has said, “Hopefully through our efforts we will empower people to understand what it means to have diabetes and to not be afraid to seek help.”
